Apples contain soluble and insoluble fiber. These two types of fiber are important because they bind to toxins in the gut, and help escort them out of your body. Another important nutrient that apples have are B Complex Vitamins. These vitamins aid in maintaining red blood cells and promote a healthy nervous system. The fiber in apples also helps to maintain a healthy cholesterol level. Like many other fruits, apples contain abundant amounts of antioxidants, allowing your body to work better at preventing and fighting disease. The majority of antioxidants and fiber are in the peel of the apple. Therefore we leave the peel on during the juicing process in order to reap all of the nutrients from these delicious apples! In the fall and winter we get to source 100% of our apples from Kiyokawa Orchards in Hood River, OR. Learn more about Kiyokawa Orchards on Our Farmers page.

They are an excellent source of vitamin C, including most of the B complex, iron, potassium, phosphorus, and sodium. Carrot juice is considered the golden juice of healing, by helping in cleansing the liver. As they are easy to digest, causing the liver to release bile and excessive accumulated cholesterol. They also have an alkalizing effect on the blood, soothing the entire nervous system and toning intestinal walls. With a very low glycemic index level, carrots do not cause blood sugar levels to raise very quickly at all. This in itself is correlated with all sorts of health benefits. Additionally, the beta-carotene present in the skin is a natural protector for the common skin cancer, melanoma.

Famous for their ability to cleanse the blood, beets contain calcium, sulfur, iron, potassium, choline, beta-carotene, and vitamin C. Beets are also high in minerals that strengthen the liver and gall bladder. These organs are the building blocks for blood corpuscles and cells. By increasing the efficiency of mitochondria, recent studies have shown that beets may be beneficial for athletic performance. Mitochondria are what bring energy to the cells causing time to exhaustion during high-intensity exercise to increase. Beets are also a great source of fiber and therefore promote digestive health.
